The DSM x New Balance 991 collaboration honors the U.K.-based Flimby factory's 40th anniversary. The shoe has a classic grey color scheme that is mostly present on the mesh and suede upper and is contrasted throughout with sail leather overlay sections. The 40th-anniversary insignia can be seen on the footbed and behind the tongue, and the DSM logo is embroidered on the tongue and heel. The 99x series' first shoe to have Abzorb cushioning in the forefoot and below the heel completes the design with a two-tone Abzorb midsole.
