TealSalehe Bembury has been one of the creative forces behind New Balance‘s most recent dominance in the collaborative footwear space. Tomorrow, the American designer launches the follow-up to an Antelope Canyon-inspired trainer from October 2020: the New Balance 2002R “Water Be The Guide.” Inspired by the great outdoors, the upcoming sneaker indulges in an vibrant color palette just like its aforementioned predecessor. Shades of teal are overlaid atop a faint and burnt orange mesh base, nodding to rivers, lakes and other bodies of water found across the United States of America. Green on the profile “N” logos, “running” badges on the tongue, thumbprint-reminiscent pattern on the heel and detailing across the modernized sole unit underfoot further evoke natural scenery. Idyllic landscapes also make their own onto the shoe’s packaging as boxes depict grand rapids running in-between canyons of sorts.
